The Chancellor of the university and the Vice-Chancellor's of International Affairs, Education and Research and Technology travels to France

 
In accordance with the defined objectives of the Franco-Iranian Office of Scientific and Medical Cooperation, the Chancellor of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, as well as Vice-Chancellors of Education, International Affairs and Research and Technology went to France on February 17, 2018. The coordination of this trip was made by Dr. Farhad Heshmati, professor and researcher at the Cochon Institute in Paris. This stay was formalized by the invitation of the medical faculty of Rene Descartes University, on one side to visit scientific and hospital centers and on the other side to sign memorandums of understanding.

      

During this 3-day trip, the Iranian delegation visited the Rene Descartes University, the Clinical Skills Training Centers (Ilumen), the centralized laboratories and the Pneumatic System of the Cochin Institute, the Solenn House (center for adolescents) and the hospital group of the Assistance Publique Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP).

 

The most important achievement of this trip was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with René Descartes University in Paris on joint research projects, joint training programs, exchanges of professors and students. It should be noted that Rene Descartes is one of the universities who works in collaboration with AP-HP, with 33,500 students and it is known as the most important hospital-university system in France.

  

 

In addition, there was an initial agreement between the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and the University of Rene Descartes on a joint project for diploma of emergency medicine between the two universities.

 

The first negotiations for the development of exchange of professors and researchers at the Cochin Institute of Paris, the realization of joint projects and the transfer of experience in the Assistance Publique Hospitals of Paris (AP-HP) by organizing training and workshops in Iran were made and the agreements were completed.

 

At the end of this trip, the Chancellor of the university, Dr. Mohammad Aghajani and his accompanied delegation met at the Embassy of Iran with the invitation of the honorable Ambassador of Iran Mr. Abolghasem Delfi. During this meeting, Dr. Aghajani detailed the scientific capabilities of the university hoping to solidify relations with France for the improvement of the health system and the quality of medical care in Iran. In addition, he requested the support of the Iran embassy in France to achieve these goals. Consequently, the ambassador expressed his commitment to furthering the goals and emphasized the role of the scientific and academic communication between Iran and France.
